UPF scarf shopping online? “And just like that, disco’s not dead,” said Harpers Bazaar. “The wide collar favoured by the Studio 54 set made a surprise comeback on the spring 2020 runways. “Modernised on coats, jackets, and button-downs at Lanvin, Ferragamo, JW Anderson, and beyond, the look is often shown with contrasting colours to make it really stand out. Because what’s the point of a super collar if you can’t really see it?” Can’t argue with that. Whether they’re long, narrow, bright or dark, expect to see a lot more of this triangular trend. “They aren’t going anywhere it seems. Everyone from Anna Sui to Giorgio Armani have hopped on the bandwagon and used them on the runways.” Between all these looks set to hit the shops, we’re confident 2020 is going to be a year with designs so groundbreaking that even Meryl Streep would have been satisfied.
When it comes to waistcoats, think Glastonbury, not Gareth Southgate – specifically, think Kate Moss at Glastonbury in 2005. Cut tight to the body and worn with micro shorts, billowing shirts and occasionally with nothing underneath at all, a black tailored waistcoat was central to Moss’s Noughties look – and the Saint Laurent spring/summer 2020 version (worn by Kaia Gerber) was a clear throwback. Elsewhere, the waistcoat lent ’70s panache to jeans and crepe de Chine blouses at Celine, elongated elegance to a chocolate brown combination at Hermes, and boyish ease to wide-legged trousers at Sacai.
You can’t participate in the ’70s trend without at least a little something suede. Or in this case, a lot of suede. Fringe jackets made their triumphant return to the ready-to-wear scene and thanks to brands like Khaite and Celine, the incorporation of this strong outerwear piece finally feels chic as opposed to costumey. We also saw stunning suede midi skirts at Altuarra and more modern takes on the fabric at Longchamp with those hot-pants co-ord sets. Neither of the editors writing this trend report necessarily enjoys being “one with nature,” but give us a tropical print or a utility jacket and you’ve got our attention. There were many odes to an outdoorsy lifestyle among the spring collections this season—including everything from raffia dresses and bags to vacation-ready getups that had us craving summer more than we ever have before. The good news (for some of you) is that none of the trends listed below actually require you to be outside. Basically, consider this your official fashion girl’s guide to dressing like a nature lover.
Unisex – No gender. The classic neck gaiter is designed to fit most neck sizes and offers perfect neck sun protection. However, some folks prefer a more snug fit so that the gaiter will stay up for sure. If this is the case, please consider the adjustable neck gaiter with velcro tabs. Everyday, customers write in with new uses and ways to wear the neck gaiter and we’d like to share some of them here: fishing face mask, neck warmer, cool neck wrap by wetting the gaiter and allowing the evaporating water to cool the neck back and chest, neck gaiter for running, full sun face mask, nose sun protector, neck sun protection for front, sides and back of the neck and cooling head wrap. Let’s discuss a few spring 2020 trends in the fashion world. Some Like It Hot Pants: Who wears short shorts? A lot of us. Hot pants staged a triumphant comeback on the spring 2020 runways—from itty bitty knit shorts at Hermes and Ferragamo to denim cutoffs at Rag & Bone and spandex at Brandon Maxwell. For those who’d rather ease into Daisy Duke status, Chanel styled the look with black tights.Balance out the ultra-short shorts with long sleeves or a jacket on top, a la Isabel Marant.
Patented 37.5 technology uses active particles made from volcanic sand and activated carbon from coconut shells that have billions of micropores, massively increasing the surface area of the material. These particles also absorb infrared (IR) light in the spectrum that the human body emits it, and this light becomes the energy that powers the particle. If no moisture (sweat vapor) is present, meaning you are cool, the particles retain this energy to warm you. If moisture (sweat vapor) is present, meaning you are hot, the particles use this energy to move moisture out of the clothing system. Without these active particles, water has no reason to leave the microclimate until relative humidity is much higher than is comfortable. Want more? 37.5 active particles also trap odor molecules and then release them when they’re washed and dried. And speaking of washing, because the active particles are permanently embedded in the fiber they will last the lifetime of the garment. The fabric is knit in Taiwan.
