Oxford welders shopping today with weldingsuppliesdirect.ie? Ireland market look: Looking for the premium ? Here’s a lot of welder for the money. The Eastwood MIG 135 industrial Welder features infinite adjustment from 25-135 amps, enough range for 24 gauge sheet metal to 1/4-inch steel plate. It has infinitely adjustable controls and a setup chart on the case cover. It’s also spool gun compatible, giving you the option for 1/4-inch aluminum. The Eastwood MIG 135 industrial Welder mounts 4-inch and 8-inch wire spools, but the wire drive is plastic instead of metal. One other issue with the wire drive is that you’ll need to buy a drive roller if you run flux core wire instead of MIG. Eastwood included the gas regulator and hose for MIG capability, however. It’s got an industry-standard Tweco-style MIG gun for easy-to-find consumables. The connection leads could be longer, but the Eastwood MIG 135 industrial Welder is a versatile, easy to use machine for a great price. If you’re building roll cages or doing chassis work, then you’ll want the model up, the Eastwood 175 Amp MIG Welder is a great 240 volt option that includes the spool gun for aluminum capability right out of the box. How to pick a welder tips: Duty cycle: The advertised amperage of the machine offers a headline guide, but the duty cycle of the machine gives up the truth. Light industrial machine duty cycles can be as low as 20%, but more heavy duty MIG’s should range between 40-60%. If a 300amp MIG has 30% duty cycle for instance, it’s on the edge of acceptability. Duty cycle is determined by how many minutes out of 10, it can weld at 100%. Duty cycle testing: MIGS tested at 20 Degrees & 40 Degrees we consider good. (Beware any manufacturer who doesn’t quote an ambient temperature for testing) Manufacturer’s warranty: Always a great guide to quality. A three year warranty is good. Weld characteristics: Make sure the arc is smooth & suits your application. (Some machines are better suited at the low range and others at higher amperage range).
At just $99, the Goplus is a fantastic value considering what it is equipped to do. In fact, it is the most affordable welder on our list, beating out its competitors by hundreds or even thousands of dollars and putting it in a class of its own. For a budding hobbyist not yet sure if welding is for them, you can’t go wrong with the Goplus. After all, for $99 its welding thickness and the duty cycle is about what one would expect (don’t look to buy this welder if you want it for heavy duty use). The Goplus is light and compact when compared to most other welders. Flux core wire is included. It has four levels of easily adjustable current flow and ten levels of wire speed. The Goplus is able to weld steel and iron at below ¼ inches thickness.
Eliminate Any Extra Welds from the Design: Look for ways to modify product designs to eliminate unnecessary welds. For example, one company that manufactured boxes originally had a design that called for welded lift handles on each side of the box. By simply changing the design of the box to cut out lifting slots, it eliminated the need for welding the handles – saving time and money. In another instance, rather than making a part with an open corner, the design was changed to accommodate a closed corner, which meant 1/3 less metal required to fill the corner. Look for Items That Can Be Welded Rather Than Cast: We’ve already discussed ways to eliminate welds to create efficiencies, but what about adding welds? In some cases, it may be more cost effective to weld metal pieces to a part rather than cast the entire component in a costly alloy or exotic metal. For example, a company that originally used a part cast in a high-nickel alloy found that 50 percent of the part could be composed of standard, structural steel which allowed a savings in material and thus a savings in total cost. Also, the company was further able to redesign the part so that it was more efficient.
Our welding tables are to be self-assembled. This is an easy process; full instructions are provided. A wide range of tools are available for use with these tables and they are available as added optional extras in the custom options above. If you require guidance on which tool set would be the most suitable for you please feel free to call our helpful staff. *Please note that current lead times on these welding tables are 3-4 weeks, however if you require the table quicker please alert us and we will do our best to assist with your enquiry*
Some advices about welding equipment, MIG and TIG welders, plasma cutters. A MIG welder uses a continually feeding spool of thin filler wire as an electrode fed by a wire feed gun to form an electric arc between a wire and the work-piece metal. This heats the work-piece metal and the electrode, causing them to melt and join together to create the weld. Mig welding can be either Gas or Gasless and each have benefits. Gasless welding is far more portable as there’s no gas bottle to carry around, saves cost on having to buy gas bottles and regulators, is easier on positional welds and can penetrate deeper than Gas MIG although the welding wire for a gasless MIG is more expensive than a gasless MIG. Gas MIG welding produces much cleaner welds with no slag or spatter, is slightly better on thinner metals and the welding wire is cheaper than gasless MIG wire.
MIG welders are divided into transformer and inverter models. Briefly, transformer machines feature only mechanical parts that can adjust the output voltage “sequentially” while the unit is off. The output voltage is not stabilised and may decrease under load. Still, a simple design is the main benefit of transformer welders that facilitate their maintenance. Also, they are often cheaper. Inverter MIG welders are fitted with electronics that allow a smooth voltage adjustment, so it isn’t susceptible to drops and does not fall under load. Of course, power is the main feature of any electric tool. As for MIG welders, their power depends on the maximum amperage, more usually, the output range. This range determines the unit’s field of application. Powerful models can be used on small construction sites or in repair shops, while less powerful models are usually used for private needs. For example, the welders of up to 200A are great for home use; the 300A models are suitable for small repair shops, and if you need a high output and continuous work, consider welders over 300A.
A MIG welder or a metal inert gas welder is a great tool to use when making home DIY projects. With it, you can make a picture frame and a rack to cover your home safe. You can even make your own traditional door knocker if you are not into wireless doorbells. Whether you’re looking for a small MIG welder you can use around the house for basic DIY projects, or you’re looking for a car arc welder that you can take with you on professional jobs, there are various things you’ll need to consider. For instance, man wearing gloves to safely weld metalthe first step is figuring out where you’re going to use your welder. The best welder for home use might not be the same as the ideal machine for your day-to-day business jobs. If you need your arc welder to work effectively in a garage, then you might have to look for an option with a specific range of safety functions to keep you secure as you work.
If you’re a beginner welder but don’t mind splashing the cash for a top of the range welder, then try the Millermatic 141. Miller have really pushed the boundaries of usability with this welder and it features an auto-set feature for an easy set up, and infinite voltage and wire speed control. All you have to do is select the thickness of the metal you’re welding and you’re ready to start welding straight away. If you open up the machine you can tell that all the parts are great quality and really durable as well. There are more powerful welders on the market for the price, but there’s nothing better for welding up to 3/16 inch steel. See the full review here.
